Music therapy sessions take place in a familiar and comfortable environment allowing therapy to be tailored to the individual's unique strengths, needs, and goals. Sessions are for anyone who experiences challenges in their lives, such as Autism, learning disabilities, mental health difficulties, dementia, or any other physical, social or emotional difficulties.
What happens in a session?
Every session is different because each person is unique! Music therapy can consist of musical improvisation, musical activity songs, instrumental learning, singing, writing songs, listening to music together and more.
What do I need?
A space at home where the music therapy can happen, preferably somewhere spacious and free from any sensory stimuli that may distract the person receiving music therapy from engaging in the session.
Your music therapist will bring a selection of instruments with them so you do not need anything but if you already have access to musical instruments of your own, then great!
Online music therapy & accessible music lessons
Online sessions offer a flexible and accessible way to engage in music therapy or music lessons from home. They may be particularly helpful for individuals who experience barriers to attending in-person sessions, including health needs, mobility difficulties, geographical distance, or busy family lives.
Lessons can be delivered online via Zoom.
